Tess O'Hara had been dating her dream man for four months when the police show up at her door and take her in for questioning. They want to talk about her ex-husband who they believe is a drug lord in Denver. While at the police station, Tess discovers that her boyfriend "Jake" is actually DEA Agent Brock Lucas, assigned to keep tabs on Tess. Tess is livid and quickly drops Brock from her life. But when he turns up on her doorstep a few months later and explains his feelings for her, she decides to give him another chance. Of course, their relationship is not going to be easy with her ex-husband continually harassing her, and his ex-wife using his sons as leverage against him.

This is the second book in Kristen Ashley's Dream Man series. Tess is a sweet heroine without a mean bone in her body. That is exactly why Brock is attracted to her. Brock is an Uber-Alpha male who claims Tess as his woman and will not give her up. I didn't like him at first because of his attitude, but he definitely grew on me. I thought Tess forgave his betrayal much too quickly at the beginning of the book. I would have loved to see more groveling.

The story was enjoyable. Most of the problems in the relationship stem from dealing with their ex-spouses and various family members. It certainly kept me entertained. My rating: 4 Stars.
