This anthology lives up to its title. Personally, I find the genre of the novella is best served by (speculative)Science Fiction-witness Nancy Kress' compact version of Beggars In Spain. To call this collection spellbinding is to understate the matter considerably. As usual, Dozois has chosen shrewdly. I'm still searching for Volume One...
