Wasn't really sure about this book but decided to give it a try. The first night I read it while in the bathtub. Water got cold so I added more hot water. Next thing you know the water got cold again. I haven't been so into a book like this for a while. The author knows how to pull you in and keep you there. Plus most of the chapters are short so you find yourself saying "okay, just one more chapter" and that happens over and over again. I really liked everything in this book... the characters, word building, descriptions, etc. I think the only thing that I could complain about was the ending seemed rushed. In just the last 15 or so pages you get an in depth account on everything. This is done well but just rushed.
This book is a post apocalyptic/dystopian novel. It focuses on Amy. A teenage girl that is at home when THEY attack. Luckily she stays safe but there is a good chance that she's the only one left. After running out of food she sets out to find more. In doing so she finds more than just food.
Looks like a possibility of a 2nd book and if that's the case, I'm first in line. Highly recommended.
