The gods have commisioned the making of powerful swords and have unleashed them on the world of man. The son of the blacksmith that forged the swords finds himself caught up in a powerstruggle for the swords and finds he cannot escape the weapons that destiny have tied to him. This is a good series and this book is one of the best. Great fantasy!
