I'll give 3* to the first 3/4 of the book and 4* for the last 1/4 of the book
I think Slater is a good author, most of the time
This one lacks in a lot of areas, it has that theme of before/after, then/now and on and on, just not helpful for this story
It's very slow and most of the time (even at the half mark) you don't really know what this story is about so it just seems to drag. The chapters are short and that helped me to get through the book if the chapters had been long and drawn out I probably wouldn't have finished it.
On the front of the book is says:
An Absolutely Gripping Psychological Thriller
NOT! I don't consider it in the 'thriller' genre at all and I'm a picky reader.
I'm not saying don't read it but I'm saying it wasn't a satisfying one for me.
