When I picked up this book, I was expecting something like a Suzanne Brockmann or Linda Howard mystery/romance. But this was a paranorman romance instead. The heroine is clairvoyant, but oh, wait, she's also psychometric! And, oh, yeah, by the way, the hero is a mage, and can cast all kinds of spells, and retrospectives of crime scenes. And someone is trying to kill the heroine - but why? There's one crisis after another - the hero rescues the heroine & takes care of her, etc. etc. All in all, it read like a juicy soap opera, drama after drama, after drama. It was just too much for my taste. The only saving grace is that the author is a very descriptive writer, and the words just flowed from her pen; beautifully written. Too bad the plot was so mushy.
