This book was so strange, I often wondered if the author was on drugs. I almost stopped reading it a few times but persevered as I hoped it would get better. No, it didn't.

Ruth is a widow, living by the sea in the home her husband bought for his/their retirement. He died a short while after they moved in so she is left alone.
Frida shows up one day, claiming to have been sent by 'the government' to take care of Ruth. You can see where this is going already.
Ruth is evidently overmedicated as she has hallucinations about her childhood and a tiger in her present home. It was just too weird for me.

I won't spoil the ending but there was a little twist I didn't expect. Not that it made the story enjoyable. Just glad I didn't waste a credit on this one, borrowed from library instead.
