Molokai is a historical and critical fictionalized account about the leperosy epidemic that spread through Hawaii in the late 1800s. It is well-researched and written. The basic story follows a little girl who grows up in a leperosy colony. The colonists try to create some sort of community even though few supplies are given to them. It is the heart-warming story of brave individuals who are willing to risk their own lives to helps others.
