First published in 1791, this book covers the travels of william bartrum, naturalist,and ornithologist from 1773 to 1777. Covering an area of 37 miles,
He cataloged many new plants, and animals.
He showed the customs everyday lives of the indian tribes in that area at that time. foods, dance,clothing,ceremonies. the people were generous in their welcome of him.
this is the original book. there are other books that have beern edited to cover the native americans,the flora and fauna.
He was noted for the quality of his drawings of birds and plants.
I found this book easy to read. very interesting, I had to keep reminding my self that this was first written in the late 1700's, the revolutionary war was in progress.
