One of the better Regencies I've read recently. The characters are reasonably well developed and felt fresh.

The heroine was charming in that she isn't extraordinarily beautiful, has only borderline social skills, dances badly, and is downright snarky. Her 17-year-old sister isn't just a beautiful young lady, but also as a somewhat trying adolescent drama queen. The hero, a hermit of a man known for his scowl--think Beauty and the Beast.

Despite, or perhaps because of, the mix of oddball characters, the book was a charming take on a fairly formulaic type of story.
