Wonderful, enlightening about women and our intricacies. Despite the fact that this was so long ago and in China and so far removed from the life I lead now, family interactions, needs, wants, desires, love and all that is part of us was the same. So different is the binding of the feet, never thought what that could entail. This was a wonderful work, easy reading and very emotional. The death account was too true to how my mother left this life that it caused me to gasp and fight my tears again.
