The hero is strong and strong willed, why he is attracted to the dithering heroine is still a bit of a mystery to me. Okay, she's beautiful. They spend most of their time misinterpreting each others intentions. The writing is okay, loads of backstory placed amongst the dialog. The dialog is not too Scottish, so makes for a quicker read than say, Sue Ellen Welfonder, but Sue Ellen also seems a bit more spot on with the historical setting. The sex is standard and understated e.g. "her most sensitive spot."
