I did like this book. I thought the main character, October Daye was great. If it seemed that she was shrugging off her responsibilities, it's because in the beginning of the story, she lost 14 years of her life as well as her daughter and fiance who, 14 years later wish to have nothing at all to do with her. This is also the beginning of a series of books and I love that we'll be able to see her grow and regain any integrity and honor she might have lost during those years.
