I was immediately engrossed in this book. Don't you love it when that happens? It delighted me so much from the beginning that I found myself telling my children about it. My 20 year old daughter looked at me in confusion & asked "Why would Ford be god?". So some of the references may be lost on Gen Z considering it was written in the time where Ford Motors was king of all companies. I suggested that maybe today's version would be Apple but she disagreed saying she didn't care about Apple. Maybe there is no modern day equivalent. In 268 pages Huxley somehow & amazingly made me sympathize then dislike then sympathize again with both Lenina & Bernard. And in the closing chapters broke my heart...twice for the same character. My only remaining question is... Is it a dystopia if only four people are unhappy? But I think that's the question we're supposed to be left with. I don't have an answer.
