Had a little trouble with this one. I guess a little Buffy knowledge is a dangerous thing, since I could not quit comparing the main male character to Spike in the TV series.

The characters are unique and different. Cat, born of an unwilling mating between a vampire and a human, is out there fighting the vampires. She is moderately successful and then she meets Bones, who trains her and becomes her companion.

Overall, this book was good, but I did not think it was great. I found my interest lagging in the last third, and I got really tired of the whole "I have to kill vampires to get back at my father" speeches.
