I finished Eighth Grave because even at the worst of times Charlie is a kick in the pants. Nothing went as I expected, or wanted for that matter, but I love the relationships in this series and the dialogue is always worth the price of admission. And with the Cliffhanger from Eighth Grave how could I not read Nine?

But WTH! Charlie has amnesia? And apparently has undergone a lobotomy cause' this poser needs a spine and many many more grey cells.

Who is this stranger? And why the hell didn't Charlie kick her to the curb and take her lunch money by chapter 3?

The writing and the humor is everything I expect from and have come to depend on from Darynda Jones. But the story itself was choppy and unsatisfying. And sometimes just plain baffling. I'm going to finish out the series because even when the story goes places I Do Not Want It To Go the dialogue satisfies my need for snark, and I know at some point Charlie will do something so outrageous I'll forgive her without question. Please be worth it Charlie. I'm counting on you.
