I loved this book! It's about a long hidden part of WWII history, when women were recruited to fly military planes. From little towns all over America they heeded the call to serve, and learned to fly every plane available to military pilots. The shame was that they were little recognized and received no military benefits for their contribution for decades. The facts are surrounded with a great storyline about small town girls who rose to the challenge. It was only in recent years that congress recognized these brave women and awarded them the Congressional Medal and full benefits for their service.
