If you are looking for a fun, light-hearted mystery with a chicken, look no further! Roxy used to be a lawyer but gave that all up to pursue her dream of owning her own coffee shop by the lake. It's everything she's always dreamed of and her business is a success. She serves her own unique blends of coffees along with a few assorted pastries. She's also a huge animal lover and it's a joy to help out the local animal shelter by sponsoring a pet of the week to be adopted. These connections are how she ends up finding the body of local orchard owner and rare chicken adoptee. But who killed him, and who stole his rare and valuable chicken? Roxy doesn't believe for one minute that the most obvious suspect did it, and while technically not a lawyer anymore, she can't stand by and watch her friend get railroaded. On top of all of this, Roxy's mom comes back to town and Roxy has to run interference between her mom and her aunt. Roxy's boyfriend-maybe-fiance is moving way too fast for Roxy, reminding Roxy that they don't know each other as well as they should. There's plenty going on in this cute little town to make this a well-rounded, fun to read mystery.
