I didn't think I would like this book. I am so glad I was wrong. It was so much fun. It made me smile and some parts brought tears to my eyes.
Mallery revisited the concept of adoption but from the view of the birth mother. She created two people dealing with past losses: death and adoption. I thought it was great that Mallery gave Chrissy and Josh a plethora of mixed and complicated emotions instead of just your standard boo-hoo grief or guilt. Along with that she was able to create characters that I could laugh with and admire.
I loved how straight forward both Josh and Chrissy were. Although they were not the most self-aware it was awesome the way they said what was on their mind. There were no frustrating "misunderstandings" that kept them apart.
My favorite thing about this book was the dialogue: so clever, funny, and light hearted. And it wasn't just between the main characters, everyone's dialogues was great.
Good, solid romance even though the cover and series tagline were cheesy.
