This book starts off moderately strong but suffers from being overly drawn out, which results in a lot of meandering and redundancy. Of the three people I know who have attempted reading this book (one being myself), no one was able to finish it. That being said, the McCraken's strong points are: his history of Christian cool (especially the Calvary Chapel parts), overview of hipsters, and descriptions of trendy churches - all found within the beginning chapters. In summation, the first third of the book is a good enough read, but don't feel bad if you don't make it any further. From my impression (and the reviews of others), you're not missing out.
