What a great 5 star book! This is a book written by a talented author. To be honest the book is even better than the cover, the title or the blurb on the back.
We start with Ann who is in her seventies, and starting to have some memory problems. Ann, has one 8 year old granddaughter Ellie. Ellie is the daughter of Ann's son Tom who is married to Tinsley. Ellie has a school project that brings Ann to think about some painful things in the past: her marriage to Theo, her high school boyfriend Peter, her daughter, Emma, add to that the split of her parents marriage when Ann was in high school. All of these stories come together beautifully. There seems to be a common theme running through the female generations, and it isnt really about birdhouses, but about love and fidelity.
I liked our main character Ann, and her granddaughter Ellie. Peter was even a likeable character. The rest of the characters played their unlikable roles as they should, and as needed.
Dont miss this book. and Marry the fun one!
