Book Review of A Thousand Years Over a Hot Stove: A History of American Women Told through Food, Recipes, and Remembrances

A superb book. Tells the history of American women through food. She includes Native Americans, Irish immigrants and everyone in between.

Along with a good story, she's a lovely writer and gives you a sense of the time and the challenges women faced throughout history.

There's a discussion of politics from a historic perspective but her focus is the changing role of women through out our nation's history - so the book would interest readers from all political persuasions.

Truly a joy to have read. I offered to send it to someone before I actually read it - and now I'm plotting to get it back :)
