This book explores the relationship between 3 childhood friends. They come from 3 different Jewish backgrounds from secular to Hasidic. The choices they make and how it effects them and their relationships makes for a great story. The characters are well developed. The premise of the book to me is within any religious community there is always a struggle between true goodness of heart & altruistic behavior vs hypocrisy and fanaticism.
