Beauty for Ashes is a refreshing romance, imbued with Christian values and intriguing characters. Widow Carrie Daly has been living with her brother's family while dancing around setting a wedding date with her friend Nate. So when Griff Ruftledge blows into town, she is drawn to him, even against the bequest of the townsfolk to stay away from him. Griff has always been a bachelor, but there is something about Carrie that draws him. Both of them have difficulties in their life and must allow their faith to help them set their course and their hearts.

With refreshing characters set in a small town after the Civil War, Love has built a great community. This is the second book in the series, so I was a little lost at the beginning, but the author does a superb job of filling the reader in so it can be read as a standalone. Love delivers a deep sigh read!
