I read this book for the first time as an adult and I really enjoyed it. It's about a girl named Jerusha who grew up in a children's home and finished high-school while at the home. She has a talent for writing so one of the trustees of the home offers to pay for college for her on the condition that he remain anonymous and that she writes to him faithfully every month about what's going on at school. She starts writing to him and addresses the letters to "Daddy Long Legs"
