This is the 3rd book in the series and it was very good. I find the character of Superentendent Duncan Kincaid kind, considerate and yet complicated. Each book has new characters and different plots that maintain it suspense and mystery. In this book, the dissolute son-in-law of influential Sir Gerald Asherton, is found floating in a Thames River lock. Kincaid suspects it was not suicide but murder...and so begins his investigation.
