After reading the reviews for this book, I was very worried. I really loved the first three books in this series and was excited to finally fit this one into a challenge. I don't understand how anyone could not enjoy this book. Ragnar - the purple dragon (gotta love it) and Keita - a dim-witted she-dragon (or so he thought) are a perfect match. There is turmoil and unrest between the dragon lands. The Northlands (Ragnar's people) and the Southlands (Keita's people) reluctantly join forces to fight the dragons and humans from the Ice Lands. The battle itself does not occur in this book but it is definitely set up for the next.
The she-dragons (Keita's sisters and sisters-in-law) are vicious critters. They fight amongst themselves worse than the men do. The verbal fights are hysterical and made me laugh out loud. Keita is an incredibly strong and independent female and doesn't want to be tied down not even by her very purple dragon. Ragnar knows enough not to talk of love to Keita but he's smart enough to work around Keita's many limitations and get the ultimate reward.
