A very sweet story about two different people trying to escape their real lives to regroup. Wiggs weaved a great cast of characters around a story that slowly unfolds.
THINGS I LIKE:
I loved how incredibly giving Kate was. It's not everyday where someone would open their home to an unknown teenager, especially since she has a school-age son already. I also love how honest she is and that most of the time she speaks her mind. I felt like she had to do a lot of the chasing in the relationship though so that reflected poorly on JD.
THINGS I DIDN'T CARE FOR:
The ending of Wiggs novels are always very abrupt for me. It's like once the proposal is made, the story ends. In her series, I know she continues the story by revisiting certain couples. But I think since JD was so worried about how Kate and the family would react to fame, it would have been nice to see how they dealt with it together.
Even though I really liked Callie, I have to say that she was extremely well balanced for someone having gone through such a traumatic life. In fact, I think she was easier to deal with than most teenagers. Her character was just to ideal for me.
Overall, it was a nice easy read. I enjoyed it and will continue to search out Wigg's books.
