I had never seen the much acclaimed show that toured the country, but I'm almost glad I missed it. I had heard how wonderful it was to experience it. That said, this is the first and only book that I just could not bring myself to finish it. I was on vacation and this was the only book I had to read with me. That is the only reason I got most of the way though it. Even my husband noticed how a 530 page book was taking me over a week to read. This for me is very abnormal.
Wicked takes you through the stages of life of Elphaba; and how prophecy for her, her sister, and close friend come to life throughout their lives. There's really not too much more to it from what I read. There were only a few part that engaged me to read more enthralled, but those were short lived. I was not expecting a "happily ever after" scenario through the book as we know how her story ends. However, there was not enough to the plot to keep it interesting for me.
