This is a cute, and readable cozy. I liked the theme, and the main characters. There is a double mystery interwoven here, and it works okay, but the finale leaves one to wonder how could a person take on so much physically within a few days, and still live? But! such is the stuff of cozy mysteries. A couple of spots in the book were cringe-worthy, for me anyway. Such as when, main character, Jordan is doing her job of restaurant critic, and has to question the waiter if he is sure it's 'gratis'. Also, the fact that in the same restaurant's second review, she orders the same exact salad and dessert. No critic would do this, they would sample as many dishes as possible. Unbelievable also is when the description of one main male character is described as 'curling up with a good book'. Sorry, Ms. Lipperman, but no guy 'curls up' with his book!! Try flop down, stretched out, or chilled with... next time.

A nice addition to the story line is Jordan's apartment complex and the colorful characters of the senior set with their various evenings together that include Jordan.

All in all, it's a nice intro for a new cozy series, and the main character Jordan, a firey redhead trying to advance her journalism career, while meeting new men, is fun and believable. The ending of this one leads into her next possible adventure, and I wait for it hoping for a good second installation.
