As a foster care social worker this book really hit home. I could see several of my foster care clients in bits and pieces and sometimes as a whole in this book. Many of my foster families have been through very similar situations. The foster parents I have leant it too have read it very quickly. This is a very honest, straight forward account of the realities of foster care.
