Written for readers 2nd-4th grade, this book makes an excellent family story-time book and is especially good for the Christmas season. A timeless story, it tells of a pioneer family - mama and four children - who face a bleak Christmas because papa can't get back to them until the weather clears. 10 year old Ben tells the story. But they still have a wonderful Christmas because they take in some strangers. This book tells the story of Jesus' birth and then demonstrates the love and joy of the season.
