Pretentious much??? Good grief Mr. Maguire...I love the premise of the book...But do we need to show the world your mastery of the English language and the fact that you know how to throw a bunch of complicated words together??? I don't consider myself a genius but I do view myself as intelligent and I understood what you were trying to say but you could have said it better using less complicated wording...This wasn't written as old English prose...It was written to impress his friends and old college professors...Having said that, I will state again, I love the theme of the book...After chewing through the nonsense I found the story to be impressive...Maguire has a vivid imagination and he gives readers what they want...A view of the Wicked Witch of the West and what made her the way she was...Will I recommend it??? No...Why??? Because there are so many other books out there where the authors try to spin a golden story without making their audience feel like grade school drop outs...
