"Hey, I'm not afraid to say it."
This is the third book in the Black Cat Bookshop series. After a terrifying ending to the second book, Darla and bookstore cat, Hamlet, are both recovering. Darla has taken up karate as self defense. Hamlet is not his usual snippy self and Darla hires a cat whisperer to help him. Darla is once again thrown into a murder investigation after she and employee, Robert discover their sensei dead at the dojo. Harsh words and actions from the week before the murder put several people in the highlight as a suspect.
I enjoy this series and particularly like Hamlet. His ability to pull books from the shelf that relate to the subject at hand is most amusing. The introduction of the Italian greyhound, Roma, is a sweet addition. The cat whisperer or feline empath is a quirky character that makes the story fun. I look forward to the next book in the series.
