Dakota Bennington is committed to her cultural heritage in everythign from her traditional African clothing to her unforgettable sculptures. To her, corporate attorney Pierce Ellis is just another uptight, upwardly mobile professional stuck in the American mainstream. Until he reaveals another side...a tender, vulnerable side.
Pierce worked hard to get where he is, and is proud of his success. His personal life is another story. Shattered by a relationship gone wrong, he's reluctant to become involved again- especially with a woman as strong- minded as Dakota. Yet is drawn to her; she brings him back to his roots. Now an art purchase by his firm had made the unconventional artist a major part of his life. Pierce doesn't want to be hurt, but Dakota isn't giving him any guaranteed.
