This is a great book and I now have a new author to look forwatd to reading. Kinsey Blake is a Rebel gal, loyal to the Confederate cause. So much so she disguised herself as a guy in order to fight. Her new husband is killed in front of her and she swears revenge against the Yankees. She returns home to Virginia and President Jefferson Davis appoints her to a secret mission as a Confederate spy, known as the Vixen in Gray. She heads to Washington D.C., where her aunt has a boarding house. There she is shocked to find the gorgeous Yank, who killed her husband or was it his brother?
Here starts the beginnings of a wonderful romance, between Kinsey and Chap. Through many ups and downs, the two find love. The characters are well-developed and the plot keeps you turning the pages. There also a couple secondary romances and as well as the use of the Abraham Lincoln family as a part of the story. I have found a new author whose books I will devour. I don't see any books from her after 1994 and only four by her before then. Oh no, does that mean she has stopped writing, if her other 3 books are as delightful as this one, I surely don't understand it.
