Stephenie Meyer's very first book, not the best quality writing, but she pours her heart and soul into the characters. The other books in the series are much better, but this one's important for background and character development. I highly recommend the entire series. A lot of her writing is influenced by the music she listens to and by classics from Shakespeare, Austen, and Bronte.
