I enjoyed all the stories in this collection. They are quite varied and have very different settings. If you like story collections, don't miss this one.
A Christmas Prayer by Wanda E. Brunstetter

This happily-ever-after story is quite interesting in that it encompasses two young children, who have integral parts to play in the overall story. The setting is a small wagon train heading for California in 1850, with each person having different dreams of what the future might hold for him or her. The characters are interesting. I loved their simple Christmas celebration and the gifts that each one gave. I enjoyed this first story in the collection very much.
Another Christmas Story by Susan Page Davis

What a unique climax to the story! This story is overshadowed by sadness and loss, but has many wonderful moments and gestures by the characters. It seems very realistic and I was drawn in by the author's attention to detail. My favorite character is Jamesânot your typical hero, but so thoughtful, intelligent and kind.
The Reluctant Runaway by Melanie Dobson

I actually really like this story, however, I think it has great possibilities for a novel, rather than just a short story. Lavinia is an amazing heroine.
A Stagecoach Christmas by Cathy Liggett

I thoroughly enjoyed this story from 1849, set in Western Missouri. It illustrates the few choices that women of that era had. Molly is a feisty, young woman and a great heroine! She is definitely not your typical âvictim of circumstances.â âWhat a trooper!ââis my way of putting it. She is amazing and deserves to have all her dreams come true.
Forging a Family by Vicki McDonough

I like the play on words for the title of this heart-wrenching story. The pieces of this story fit together like a well-loved puzzle.
Snow Song by Olivia Newport
4****
Snow Song is a story about acceptance, forgiveness, and faithâin people and in God. It's a story about some of the lowest lows, but ends on some of the highest highs. It's an unusual and thought-provoking story.
