Book Review of Happiness Is a Choice You Make: Lessons from a Year Among the Oldest Old

This book made me think way more than any other book I read this year. The author stuck with his project of getting to know people in their nineties long enough to overcome nearly all of his preconceptions about old age. In the book, he shares what he learned about himself and about life in a humble way that I found both touching and thought-provoking. He shows uncommon respect for the people featured in the book, showing how they were far more complex and interesting than they appeared at first.

Whether you're reading it to better understand your own future or the present situation of someone in your life, this book is a very worthwhile way to spend your time.
