Josie Quinn's sister was staying at her house until they had an argument. Trinity stormed off and rented a cabin in the woods. Not hearing from Trinity after three weeks, Josie drives out to the cabin. There she finds Trinity's car in the driveway. Her purse and phone are in the car. A note for the cabin's owner shows that she intended on leaving weeks ago.

When Josie finds human remains in the backyard, she fears the worst. She calls in her team to investigate. Dental records show that the body is a woman who disappeared from a nearby town seventeen days ago. Now Josie must work night and day to find Trinity before it is too late.

The eighth book in the Josie Quinn book starts off with a bang. Trinity had recently been suspended from her job as the host of a morning news show. She had talked about developing a news story that would take her back to the top of the ratings. What exactly was she working on, and does it have anything to do with her disappearance?

I liked this story but found it frustrating. Why would Trinity take such dumb chances with her life? I thought the surprise twist about the killer was original, even though I had figured it out by the middle of the book. Still a good addition to the series. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
