Excellent book! I was hooked on the first page, and couldnt put it down.
Megan is a settler by birth. meaning she has the power to put unsettled zombies back in their graves. All Megan wants to do is be asked by the football star Josh to the homecomming dance, but when zombies start showing up on her dates, in the lockerooms, and worse at her house, Megan has to figure out who is re-animating them and fast.
Her childhood friend, Ethan, is all grown up now and works for protocall, (the Settler Afairs police) and is assigned to train Meagan as well as babysit her. But feelings start getting in the way, and before she knows it, someone close to her is plotting to destroy the homecomming dance, "Carrie-Style"
This book was an absolute delight to read. This was a cute fluffy read, with light teen-romance, and some gore. Theres also a few laugh out loud moments, like when an unsettled zombie starts flailing in Megans livingroom, and Megan picks up his fallen off arm, and rides on her bicycle with it in a bag to return it to the cemetarty. I love the parts where she uses the phrase, "tell me what you dont like about your death." Total tounge in cheek. There were also some good twists at the end which i didnt see comming, although I did suspect the right person towards the end. Overall it was wonderful!
I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series, which I have already pre-ordered from my book store. It was nice to stay in the paranormal/mystery genre, without having vamps in it. Definite keeper IMO
