Ms. Loh is well thought of in S. Cal., having offered short pieces on public radio stations for years. We enjoy her very clever phraseology, wit, and the stories drawn from her daily life.
I was disappointed when she divorced as her husband had served as the foil from time to time. I don't know if she has national popularity like David Sederis but still hold it against Ruth Seymour, the former dictator of KCRW that she fired Ms. Loh (one of several notches on her gun).
The author is not an English major but has a good science degree from Caltech and offers a daily bit about recent research (with a funny twist at the end) that is heard on subscribing stations.
A problem with this book for future readers may be all the allusions to the 1990s, i.e. it will be less enjoyable if you don't remember who Admiral Stockdale was.
I myself liked best the chapter 'On The Road' where she and her husband are visiting his parents.
