This book doesn't quite fit into my personal categories of 'lightweight' mystery or 'heavy hitter' mystery. Yes, the heroine is a first time P.I. with no real experience, so it should go into the first category. But there are various vicious murders, also; so it ought to fit into the second.
Whichever, It's a pretty good read. I'll watch for more Ilsa Mayr books.
From back cover: theft. Cybil soon learns her client is right. The company is losing tens of thousands of dollars a month to someone clever enough to hide the trail. Cybil may be inexperienced, but she nows how to play it cool. Even so, she can't stop one curious employee from tumbling to her death. Murder or accident?
The answer seems clear when Cybil then finds the company's chief accountant shot dead in the conference room. And when a third victim turns up, she's wondering if she's stirred up more trouble than a greenhorn can handle. Uncovering a scheme of blackmail, greed and foul play, she pursues a killer, knowing her first case might just become her last?.
