I look forward to the day I can read A Patterson book without some glaring mistake when he or his co-author describes the use of a gun. This book is not the book I have been looking forward to. The scene is British military forces, city Baghdad, year 2003. Mistake 1:The main character is described as snapping open the holster on his belt and drawing out his service "revolver". The problem is that no modern military serviceman carries a revolver, they carry semi-automatic pistols. Mistake 2: same scenario, the same character is quoted as replacing the cartridge clip in his pistol. If he is in fact carrying a revolver as previously stated then it isn't load using a clip, it is loaded one round at a time or with the aid of a speed loader. Note to authors: Get your weapons straight and consistent. That being said the book was pretty good with enough twists and turns to make for a suspenseful novel. Being set in London with all the local language sometimes was a put off (for example, one character completing a workout and was stated as "warming down" as opposed to cooling down) but it worked well considering the books location.
