The story is TOO simple. There are so many adjectives it becomes annoying and mind-numbing to read. The book is filled with little details that are pointless, boring and unneeded. For example, from page 133: "With another sigh, I turned to my computer. Naturally the screen was filled with pop-up ads. I sat in my hard folding chair and began closing all the little windows. Eventually I made it to my favorite search engine." All that was relevant to the reader was that she got on her computer to look up something, buts it is stupid details like that that makes this book irritating fast. The story is enjoyable in its own way and it's very fast moving. However, the characters are flat. The attraction between Edward and Bella seems based on nothing but looks. Worse is the fact that Bella isn't even shocked or mildly surprised when she finds out that Edward can read minds and is a real-life vampire who craves blood, especially hers. The conversations between the two are repetitive and beyond corny. No teenager says "incredulous", which seems to be Ms. Meyer's favorite word. Overall maybe 2.5-3 stars.
