The zombies in this book are really the background. The main story is about the evolution of the relationship of the brothers. When the apocalypse happened, Benny was a toddler, he was rescued by his big brother, Tom. Benny remembers that and he remembers that Tom did not go back to save his mother. He lives with Tom in a town walled off for safety. Tom is a zombie hunter. Benny thinks of him as a coward. In this story, their relationship evolves as Benny learns who his brother really is as he becomes his brother's apprentice. I will read the next in the series and recommend this one to my book club.
