Excellent sequel to The Silent Tower. Joanna sneaks back into Ferryth on the heels of Suraklin to save Antryg, and of course the world.
While I did like the book immensely, I had some nitpicks. With Antryg under guard and incapable of doing magic, why did Caris never ask how Joanna got back? That alone would have saved a bunch of doubting. And we never really find out why Suraklin needed Joanna in the first place, he did just fine using Gary. Seemed like those were just to further the plot.
The books are not exactly without stereotypes and basic fantasy tropes, but still - well done, good world-building, lots of action, appealing characters and of course a happy ending.
