Disappointing
I almost didn't make it past chapter 3 (20 pages in). The story moves slowly, but when it does move you really don't have a good sense of time. The characters are just alright - I know some folks like are described, but I never connected to *any* of characters. Big problem. This is my second Gutteridge book, and I had high hopes. I really enjoyed her book "misery loves company" (gave it 5 stars - which is rare for me!) and expected to impressed again. I don't know if this book fell flat because of Ward's involvement and direction, or if this is more like Gutteridge's normal work and "misery loves company" was a fluke. All in all it's not a bad story, but it's not a particularly great or compelling one. This book is a disappointment.
