This book read like a set of short stories set around the people participating in a cooking class. The characters do cross over stories and weave together. The individual stories dealt with relationships - long term marriage surviving many things, loss of a loved one, relationship between mother and child and other. The book also explored as new relationships formed between the individual - what can be found through a chance meeting. Underlying all the stories, of course, is food and vivid descriptions of the food and the process of cooking. Being a foodie also, I really enjoyed the book!
