Beautifully written, it goes through the entire life of Marley the yellow Lab. It's a great story, but since I'm a professional groomer who has to put up with badly-trained, lunk-headed dogs too often as it is, I really didn't want to read about one more! John Grogan is such a terrific writer, and his love of this incorrigible dog comes through in his great style. I'm just so glad that he's learned since Marley (and hope other well-meaning but somewhat ignorant dog owners come to understand, too!) that there is no reason to have such an out-of-control dog.... Dog Behaviorists can make almost any dog a well-behaved, happy member of any family! But as John Grogan said in an interview, if he'd known that when Marley was around he wouldn't have had this story to write. I'm glad he did.
